A shrinker is an elastic sock that is used to control swelling, promote healing, and help shape your residual limb.
To apply your shrinker, begin by putting your fingers at the bottom of the shrinker and scrunching it until it's flat.
Next, place the flattened shrinker at the end of your residual limb. Pull the shrinker up in one smooth movement. Check to make sure there is no space between the bottom of the shrinker and your residual limb.
Using two pairs of hands to stretch the shrinker can make this process easier when the residual limb is still sensitive. However, an individual can still apply the shrinker without the help of another person if necessary.
