After four years of working at Shands Hospital, I opened O&P Clinical Technologies, which was the first step toward fulfilling my vision of the ideal patient care facility.
This practice was set up with computers in every room to allow me to use the Internet and software that we were developing to better help educate patients and document our clinical progress. Keep in mind that this was before the Internet was really a household term and electronic medical records were nonexistent. The small office housed both my clinical practice and a few computer programmers who worked to develop the software and the global portal for Orthotics and Prosthetics information at
www.oandp.com. This was just the beginning of the dream!
